I definitely want more.

NP: SHAAMAN – BORN TO BE

… And I’m backi again! And again I’m sorry for the delay! I’ve been alright, although I’ve been also very tired. I’ll heal soon, I promise. :) I also hope you’ve been well too. ^^

So again I’m happy and again it’s all to do with music. Shaaman this time.

So yesterday it was Shaaman’s first gig in Sampa for the Reason tour at the wonderful Credicard Hall – one of my fave venues in town.

Reason is their second album, and it’s really different to the 1st one, Ritual. I would even dare to say there’s a hint of Rammstein in it. It’s powerful, beautiful, the words are meaningful and make you think. I love that in a band. I love it when with only by words and melody they make you fly away in the darkest hours.

And the gig was fabulous! I ended up watching it alone, as the friend who went with me got a different ticket and had to stay at another area (the one with champagne), but it was wonderful!!! They played all the cool songs EXCEPT the best new one: 'Born to be'. It’s unanimous among English, French, Argentinean and Brazilian fans; it’s one of the album’s best songs. I went there to see that song mainly, and they never played it. Pity. I also don't understand why 'Lisbon' is so asked, but that's the only Angra's song they played. Apart from that, the gig was wonderful and those guys are getting great day by day.

I have no comments about Hugo or Luis. Hugo played wonderfully well; all the riffs and stuff were absolutely perfect! Then they showed Luis playing the bass at one time and the song seemed to be so easy, but the camera was showing his fingers moving SO mega fast! So I caught myself nodding like with my eyes close, as if that was outrageous to look at. Superb!!! Ricardo and his solos are always impressive and he moves the sticks just like Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater's drummer), and that's just so amazing to watch, for he never makes a mistake or lets the stick fly away (not anymore at least); and Andre...

Bah! Andre's my favourite man, and I think he'll always be. He's so charismatic and talkative! Plus he sings well. :P

At one time he said: 'How many of you have 'Reason', the new album?' and we all went 'Meeeeeeee', and then he said, looking tricky (but with a smile), ‘…And how many of you downloaded it from the net?' and we all went ' MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :D' and we all laughed so much. So he said 'That's fine, really! The important thing is that you always support us, and you're here tonight, so fuck off the net download and keep on doing that, as long as you support us!' and we all went 'YEEEEEEAAAAAAH \M/'. :P

He was also very nice and sweet to us. Maybe because today is Valentine's here (Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you, cute people :-*)! ^^ So in the end of the gig he said: 'You sound amazing tonight! You really do! You're singing better each day! ' and we thought 'He's probably tired by now', so he went 'This next song I'd like you to sing! Not because my voice's already gone, but because you're singing reeeeeally well tonight! ' and we thought 'Yep, he's tired! '... but then he made it up to us by giving one of his best screams ever, so it paid off to sing the song by ourselves! :)

Hehehehe, another good time of the gig was when he was going to play the piano and it didn't have the right tune for him, so he called Fabio (the k-player), as if just to ask him something! Since he was not wearing glasses at the gig, he just needed Fabio to tune it right to him. :P Very funny though, as we thought it was something serious. :P

I also think he's getting Tobias Sammet’s disease! He's been making mistakes during his own songs!!!!! :O We did correct him and he was a bit lost hehehe. But it's tricky how we always know it and he doesn't! It’s as if he doesn’t pay attention to his own songs!!! Oki, they’re still new songs, but who cares? :P It's always fun nevertheless.

Then he made a duet with Fabio on the keyboards, playing with 4 hands ^^. They played the beginning of 'Carry On' only in the piano!!! I must confess that although it was just the start of it, it was superb! I had tears in my eyes!!! *Valentine’s Day mood on* Gosh, he plays so well... wish I had a bf like him to trip away when he plays.^^ *Valentine’s Day mood off*

The stage was beautiful, the lights and colours were perfect and that’s it; that’s what I want to do for the rest of my life: stage design for concerts! I’d do great, I bet! I just need to learn more about the whole system, but it sounds great. I’m always so in love with that atmosphere… doing that for good would be great!

They had about 3 huge screens on the stage and 2 on each side right next to the stage. They were showing images of snow while they were recording the album in Germany and also scenes from the RituaLive DVD and people like Sascha Paeth, Hugo on the snow for the first time (that was cute! Makes me remember the first time I see snow, which is yet to happen in a MEGA NEAR future, hopefully! ^^), Timo Kotipelto (Gonzalez, hahaha ^^), and stuff like that. It was a bit weird to see the snow images while it was about 28C inside the venue, but I guess it’s fine by them. *Ana stage designer mood on* I think I could do better than that :PPP * Ana stage designer mood off* ^^

I guess the best song of the gig was 'Pride'; we all jumped so much! Of course they played all the cool songs like: Ancient Winds, Here I Am, Distant Thunder, For Tomorrow, Time Will Come, Fairy Tale, Ritual and Pride from ‘Ritual’ album. From ‘Reason’ were: Turn Away (being the very first of the gig – SUPERB!), Reason, More, Innocence, Scarred Forever, In the Night, Rough Stone (I guess :S) , Iron Soul and Trail of Tears. Apart from those, there was just Lisbon, and no other Angra or any other band’s cover song. Prety good set list, imo, but BORN TO BE lacked! I thought he was ‘born to be the man’, but I guess I’ll have to wait a bit more. Anyway I don’t care because, of course, I want MORE! ^^

The whole lyrics are worth posting today. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! :-*

‘I looked inside me, to find myself
To purify me, to cease the pain
Across the river a life goes by
Look inside the mirror and you will find out

In solitude I was born
It terrified me
A veil of mist right before my eyes

I walked in shadows, I drowned in rain
I met the desert and I’m born again
Across the river a life goes by
Look inside the mirror and you will find out

In solitude I was born
It crucified me
Wearing a crown of thorns

I am free now, born to be a man
Emptiness made me understand
What lay hidden deep within

I am free now, born to be the man
Loveliness brushed away the sand
From what’s hidden deep within
Shapeless dream without a name
Wrapped in frozen layers of life
Sings the song of what we all are’
